Ben Tingle, Director of Bands

Mr.Tingle has been a band director since 2003. He has served at Coan Middle School, Rockdale County High School, Edwards Middle School, Salem High School, and is currently director of bands at Lanier High School. During his time as director, his bands have received consistently superior ratings at concert and marching festivals and were invited to travel to Orlando, Charlotte, Honolulu, New York, Chicago, Washington D.C.,and Nassau.

Mr. Tingle holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Georgia State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Mercer University, and is pursuing his PhD at Mercer University. His research includes school safety, allocation of tax revenue to fund education, and the correlation between extracurricular activities and high school student achievement. His affiliations include Drum Corps International (DCI), Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), Winter Guard International (WGI), Southern Association for the Performing Arts (SAPA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Mr. Tingle resides in Flowery Branch, GA with his daughters Madeleine and Kerrigan.
